-- Additional responsibility for learning and developing advanced knowledge of products, sales techniques and methodology, customer applications, competitive offerings and general company management philosophies and procedures in order to prepare for position as outside technical sales engineer in an Air Center.
-- Coordinate inside sales functions relating to the sale of complete machines and related parts and accessories including: maintaining active proposal and quote logs and files, completion of quotes and proposals under direction of sales or management personnel.
-- Facilitate solving and/or routing of engineering problems relating to the application of air solutions to satisfaction of customers.
-- Maintain active order file, rental file and complete machine inventory file.
-- Respond to telephone inquiries and walk-in customers regarding air solutions.
-- Advise Sales Engineers of all activities in their territories relative to air compressors, business activity and competitive activity. -- Prepare sales and activity reports, presentations, studies and research as directed by supervisor.
-- Maintain latest knowledge of competitive machinery and pricing.
-- Be present for start-ups, and assist in repair jobs with service personnel when needed and or required. Assist in plant air surveys or energy audits at customer locations.
-- Acquire and develop effective selling skills and maintain strong ethical character in all business interactions.
-- Create and implement advertising, mailers and programs to increase and improve sales of specific air compressors or accessories including direct mail, ad copy, customer satisfaction programs and dealer development programs. Maintain dealer programs including pricing changes, promotions, referrals and communications.
-- Other duties and projects as assigned which are deemed a learning experience and that directly relate to incumbent?s future ability to succeed as an outside sales engineer for Ingersoll-Rand. Administer sales volume between $3.5 and $6 million dollars including sales of completes, accessories, installations, rental fleet operations and miscellaneous training and services (air surveys, energy audits and compressor maintenance programs).
